Alpha Investing ("we", "us", "our") operates the alphainvesting.app website and the Alpha Investing mobile application (together, the "Service"). This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
- Account data: email address, display name, and — if you provide them — profile photo, phone number, and country. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash (accounts created via Google or Apple Sign-In have no password on our servers).
- Subscription data: tier (Free, Basic, Pro, Premium), trial and billing status. Card/payment details are handled by Stripe and Apple/Google and are never stored on our servers.
- Usage & content data: watchlists and sub-watchlists, saved screeners, "Ask Alpha" chat history with our AI agents, paper-trading portfolios, referral activity, personalization preferences, and notification settings.
- Product-analytics data: in-app events (screens viewed, features used) and aggregate activity (e.g. daily/weekly active use) to understand and improve the Service.
- Device data: device identifier for push notifications (FCM/APNs token), app version, and operating system.
- Crash reports: anonymized stack traces via Sentry to diagnose bugs. No personal data is attached.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Provide the Service (stock analysis, AI recommendations, earnings and valuation insights, notifications).
- Personalize your experience (relevant watchlists, briefs, and recommendations).
- Process subscriptions, trials, referrals, and payments.
- Measure and improve product performance and our AI/ML models through aggregated, de-identified usage patterns.
- Send notifications you've opted into (earnings alerts, price moves, smart-money and sentiment signals, digests).
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations (tax, financial, and sanctions regulations).
3. Data Sharing
We never sell your personal data. We share limited data with these service providers only to operate the platform:
- Google Cloud Platform: hosts our infrastructure.
- Firebase: authentication + push notifications.
- Stripe / Apple / Google Play: payment and subscription processing.
- Anthropic, Google Gemini, DeepSeek: LLM providers that generate AI analysis. Prompts are limited to market data and your query and do not include your account identifiers.
- PostHog: privacy-focused product analytics (EU-hosted). Only sanitized, allow-listed events are sent.
- Sentry: error and crash tracking.
Market data itself (prices, filings, news, fundamentals) is sourced from third-party providers; those requests are keyed by ticker and do not include your personal data.
4. Data Retention
We retain account data as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing info@alphainvesting.app or using in-app account deletion. We'll delete or anonymize your data within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.
5. Your Rights

6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards: TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, Google Cloud Secret Manager for credentials, strict rate limiting, and regular security audits. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The Service is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. We'll notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the new policy.
